6 Tips To Help You Stay Motivated On Your Health & Fitness Goals

Taking care of your health and fitness goals will help you to feel energetic, happy and confident. It is especially important at the moment as we approach our more social and busy months. We’ve all been there, when motivation starts to slip and your nutrition & food prep gets pushed to the side, or the urge to skip training slips in a little too often. Below we will give you some simple tips to help you keep your motivation high and keep you on track to reaching your goals.

Waking up early

Waking up early and starting your day off on the right foot sounds simple and easy to do, but a lot of people get this wrong. Just waking up early and being productive in the morning can dictate for a lot of people how productive they are throughout the whole day. Of course this will help if you get to bed before 10pm. A good night's sleep will do you wonders.

Plan your Week

Planning out your week and knowing what needs to get done by making yourself a to-do list is going to be beneficial for anyone. This is a good general lifestyle tip, but this especially applies to you if you’re finding it hard to maintain motivation. If that’s you, then start making a to do list at the start of the week and make sure you add your exercise/ workouts to the list. Make sure you book them in if going to the classes. By doing this each week it can help you stay accountable & you’ll feel organised with clear goals for the week.

Meal planning & Preparation

This is such an important part of your week if you’re wanting to lead a healthy lifestyle. If you neglect to plan your food & meals for the week, then you’ll most likely end up grabbing ‘on the go’ meals that are less nutritious, spending double what you need to & generally feel unorganised for the week. Have healthy snacks with you when you’re on the go, plan your first 3 to 4 dinners for the start of the week. Make larger meals and have leftovers for lunch.

Switching it up

Switching up your routine by incorporating a different exercise or even doing something completely different like swimming instead of running can keep things fresh and fun. You could switch up the time of day you train each day to keep things different. If you find yourself waking up & dragging yourself to the gym, then that’s probably a good sign that you need to try something new. Keep this tip in mind if you start to feel unmotivated.

Making it fun and social

If you’re really finding it hard to find your groove while training then maybe consider working out in a group environment or with a friend. That way you can treat your workout as a positive, fun and social thing that you can do and experience with like minded people.

Get yourself a coach

Staying motivated and keeping on track all the time can be stressful. Hands up if you’ve tried to lose weight over and over again on your own? It’s hard! Getting a coach or Personal Trainer will take that stress away and help you to achieve more than you could do on your own. They might even make it enjoyable! Make sure you reach out to us at Fitness Avenue for help. It’s what we do and we love helping you all to feel your best.
